We offer a Sunday Church School for all kids from preschool (age 3) to grade 6 which meets every other Sunday morning during the service (see our calendar for the schedule). Our school is divided into two classes:
- Grades 1-6
Our focus in Sunday School is on learning in a fun and interactive environment. We use a dynamic curriculum which focuses on Biblical stories and faith practices and includes crafts and other activities.
Kids are also part of our worshiping community. They gather with the congregation in the Sunday service for a children’s sermon before Sunday School and rejoin the service following their class. The children also prepare a Christmas Program for the congregation and are involved in our Easter Sunday morning service.
Beyond Sunday School, we offer a two-year program of Confirmation for youth in grades 7 and 8. Confirmation is an opportunity beyond Sunday School for youth to intentionally explore their Christian identity and the place and relevance of faith in their lives. At the end of the program youth are offered to opportunity to publicly affirm their faith during a special service of celebration.
The first year of the program is an in-depth exploration of the Bible and its relevance to our lives today while the second year focuses more on what it means to have faith and to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ in the real world.
This year, the Confirmation class meets on Wednesday evenings from 7–8 pm.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
For one week every July we offer a daily program of fun and learning known as Vacation Bible School. Every morning during this week kids from the congregation and the neighbourhood gather to sing, make crafts, enjoy drama, eat, play games, and learn about the Bible as they travel through a series of interactive stations. It’s always a high-energy time of fun and friendship that helps the kids to explore in an engaging way the Bible’s message of God’s unconditional love for them and all the world. Watch for updates on our website about the program for the upcoming summer.
