Second Sunday in Easter

The story of Easter continues as the risen Jesus appears to his disciples. His words to Thomas offer a blessing to all who entrust themselves in faith to the risen Lord.

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Easter Sunday

It’s the story that never gets old. The story we never tire of hearing. The story of our Lord’s resurrection. But which story do we hear in our head most often? Because we have four of them. And the one we read today is perhaps the strangest and most unsettling. And yet, perhaps it’s the one we most need to hear. Come and see…

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Passion / Palm Sunday

We welcome Holy Week today with a service that brings together the “high” of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem with the “low” of his Passion. Or is that the “low” of his entry and the “high” of his Passion? Things get a little dark and confusing as we join the story of Jesus’s last week. And still the light shines!

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Fifth Sunday in Lent

For us here in the Lower Mainland, this weekend has been ideal gardening weather… to say the least! That’s a past-time that brings many of us joy. Our gospel today speaks of gardening too. But in a way that maybe gets us thinking a little deeper.

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Fourth Sunday in Lent

How often we say that God moves in mysterious ways. Our first reading today is a vivid testament to that truth. This story of snakes and poles and healing. But maybe it also says something very un-mysterious about the gift of God’s healing. About the healing we seek. And the healing we need.

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Third Sunday in Lent

Maybe we can understand Jesus getting frustrated and angry at times (those disciples!). But losing it in the temple? Of all places! Or maybe thats exactly the place for Christ’s wrath to be unleashed. Could we also use a wake up call (even a rude one) to get us re-thinking the use of our temples?

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Second Sunday in Lent

Remember playing “Follow the Leader” as a kid? Remember how much more fun it was to lead rather than follow? Who knew that would mess up our understanding of what it means to be a disciple! So maybe these words of Jesus are just his way of putting us in our place. Our rightful place. That we might glimpse the life God desires for us all. Come along as we join the disciples for another Lenten life lesson.

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

First Sunday in Lent

Its Lent again. And we’re back in the wilderness with Jesus. Maybe that doesn’t sound so scary. Until we reflect on what this 40 day journey will ask us to put at risk and leave behind. At that point maybe its not just wild beasts we need to be concerned about. Let us cross the threshold and begin our sojourn.

Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.

Transfiguration of Our Lord

Reason is a beautiful thing. It can help us make sense of the world and lay some order on the various events and circumstances of our lives. But as Peter discovers on a hike up a mountain with Jesus one day, reason has its limits. And even its dangers. Today we peek in on those mysterious happenings on that mountain in Mark’s story of the Transfiguration.
