Joy was one of the last things Jesus prayed for his disciples to receive before going to his Passion. Joy, you could say, was serious business for Jesus. And it still is, given the way our tendencies as faith communities can get in the way of God’s people experiencing joy. So what can Jesus’s talk about sheep and shepherds and sheepfolds teach us about joy today?
