We are hosting Vacation Bible School once again this summer in partnership with our friends at St. Laurence Anglican Church. Hear stories about Jesus, make cool crafts, sing great songs, play fun games, eat super snacks and make lots of new friends as we zoom to Mars and beyond!

It will take place from August 16-18 from 9:00 to 12 noon at Good Shepherd. Registration is open for children age 4 to 12 by clicking here.

All are invited to a community event in our yard on July 9 from 1-3 pm. We will be joined by environmental artist Sylvie Roussels-Janssens who will be working with those in attendance to create colourful and creative tree warps for trees in our mini-forest, adding some beauty to our community.

There will be a couple of other artistic activities to join as well as music by the folk band “Beyond Flannel,” ice cream snacks, and an opportunity to meet neighbours. Everything is free and open to all ages. We hope you’ll join us. Please call or email the office with any questions.

Hello everyone, this is just a reminder that tomorrow we will be hosting our Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Garage Sale! It will be taking place from 9 am to 3 pm tomorrow, May 28.

UPDATE: The smoke has rolled in, and the air quality is dangerously bad right now. So, the campfire event tonight is cancelled. It would not be good to sit around in the smoke. I was really looking forward to spending time with everyone. Maybe we can try again in September – stay tuned. In the meantime, stay cool and stay safe!

Hi Everyone,

We gather for another summer campfire night on Friday at 7:30pm, this time with campfire songs, hot dogs, and s’mores! Come and join us. 

Do you have roasting sticks we could borrow? Please let us know. 

Do you have a favourite campfire song? Let us know that as well! 

Missed booking a campsite? Summer camp cancelled? Or just craving social contact with real live human beings? Join us Saturday evening, July 17 for a (symbolic but realistic looking) campfire out on our lawn at 7:30 pm. Bring a lawn chair if you can and a mask and we’ll hang out. Unfortunately s’mores are not an option. But bring a snack if you’d like and let’s chill.

As I was enjoying breakfast on my deck this morning I looked up and saw this lovely cloud formation overhead. It was only there for a moment and within 5 minutes had drifted away. To me it looked like a feather and my mind instantly went to recollecting that today is National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada. Maybe it was the Creator’s way of reminding me that the Creator will never forget all the children of this earth. And neither should I.

It’s amazing what the experience of Easter can inspire in people. Here is an artwork that Cara Wills was inspired to create. And many thank to Cara for her willingness to share it. What else has the good news of Easter inspired in your life?

As I pulled into the parking lot at the church on Easter Sunday morning I was greeted by this colourful and inspiring message. I have no idea who the artist is but they did a wonderful job. It wasn’t quite the shock of seeing Jesus risen from the dead, but it was still a delightful surprise. This was the second year in a row that I was greeted by this display on easter morning. So to whoever created this…thank you and may you know that your work brought joy to my morning.
