Advent, you might say, is the church’s “Head’s Up!” to all Christians. An exhortation to stay alert to the promise of Christ’s second coming, to prepare for the celebration of Jesus’s nativity, and to be on guard against all that would dull our senses to the evidence of God’s kingdom coming near always in the here and now. No wonder then that on this First Sunday of Advent we hear Jesus tell us to “stand up and raise your heads.” So where do you see signs of God’s presence in the midst of the murkiness of our world?
Today’s worship service will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 10:30 am. Join us live, or watch the video here at a later time.
