Up, up, and away! That’s usually what we think the story of Christ’s Ascension is all about. And in a sense it is. But it’s also a story that points us in some other directions. It asks us to look down and take notice of the place where we are planted. It asked us to look around at those with whom we share that place. And it points us forward to where God is calling us to go. Maybe it even asks us to look behind us to consider what exactly propels us forward on this journey of faith we’re on.
