Salt and light are perhaps the most famous metaphors in the whole Bible. Much has been written and preached about how to be salt and light. So it might come as a little bit of a surprise to realize that Jesus thinks we’re already there. “You are salt…and light” he says. That’s good news! The only question that remains is what are we going to do about it?
